Meet Dr. Terry D. Taylor

Terry D. Taylor, D.D.S., M.S., received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mammalian Physiology from Southern Illinois University (1971), a Bachelor of Science degree (1973), and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (1975), both from the University of Illinois. He completed specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Sugery (1982) and a Master of Science degree (1984) at the University of Texas, Health Science Center in Houston.

Upon graduation from the training program in 1982, he joined the faculty in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the School of Dentistry of the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. In 1993, having achieved the academic rank of Academic Professor and having served as the Director of Residency Training for five years, he left the University of Texas to enter private practice, while maintaining the rank of Clinical Professor to continue involvement in resident education.

He has been a member of the Active Staff at Houston Methodist Hospital since 1982.

While the scope of his clinical practice involves virtually all areas of the specialty, the primary focus of his career has been to provide quality care in orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Terry D. Taylor is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He served as a member of the Advisory Committee for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for 6 years.

He maintains the rank of Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas, Health Science Center, Houston. He is also a consultant at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Department of Head and Neck Surgery in the Division of Surgery and Anesthesiology.
